The Lakewood Police Independent Guild Charitable Fund is an all volunteer, non-profit charitable organization comprised of Lakewood Police Officers and members of the Lakewood community. These volunteers are on the front line of protecting our community every day and often come in contact with vulnerable victims who need OUR help. It might be a family who just lost everything they owned in a house fire and have to start over. Or, a young child who was molested and their family needs help getting counseling and support. Or, a domestic violence victim who needs a safe place to stay for a couple of days in order to flee an abusive relationship.
In addition to these on-going endeavors, the Lakewood Police Independent Guild Charitable Fund sponsors the annual Christmas at the Police Station. This is a free event held every year at the Lakewood Police Station that invites children from throughout Lakewood to come and visit with Santa Claus, have their picture taken, and receive a free toy or gift and warm clothing. We particularly focus on inviting children in less than ideal situations for whom this may be their only Christmas gift.
The Lakewood Police Independent Guild Charitable Fund has done all of these things for people in OUR community. But, we can’t continue to do this without your support. With a generous donation you can help us by providing funds in the form of gift cards, grants or by donating merchandise. This will allow us to continue to help many of these families and individuals not only to meet essential daily needs, but to work toward a brighter future.
Again, the Lakewood Police Independent Guild Charitable Fund is an all volunteer organization. It is a non-profit charity registered with the Washington Secretary of State’s office. By utilizing volunteers and generous gifts from the community, we are able to keep our administrative costs low. Last year, our first year of operations, over 99% of the monies raised went directly to our charitable expenditures. Please help us make OUR community a better place!
