Welcome to our site. The Lakewood Police Independent Guild (LPIG) was founded within days of our department starting in August of 2004 and legally recognized by the Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) three months later. We have come a long way since our inception. Our Guild primarily exists as an advocate and a complete supporter of our members and their families. Thanks to Officer Borchardt the LPIG Charity Fund was established in January of 2009. The goal of the Charity is to help those citizens our officers truly know need our help. The LPIG is active in bargaining our contracts, increasing member’s benefits, supporting Law Enforcement issues locally and through our work in WACOPS, aggressively defending our member’s rights, and working in the community in areas that further our goals.
